Great Dinners from Life: Spring Leg of Lamb (1969)

I told you that I’d share the rest of my very French Easter, so here’s the main dish, leg of lamb. Because it’s not Easter Sunday without Lamb!

This recipe comes from Great Dinners from Life by Eleanor Graves which was published in 1969. John Dominis was the photographer. And the photos are fantastic.

I own two copies of this–both hard cover and paperback.

Dominis’ Leg of Lamb. I don’t know why the garlic and herbs are strung up like Harry Houdini being lowered into a lock box

It is a really great cookbook. Just like Dinner is Served, the cookbook includes entire menus and a timeline of what to do when to get dinner on the table. I’d like to throw a full-on dinner party and try one of these out.

In addition to the fantastic leg of lamb photo, I chose this recipe because it apparently was a hit….

There is a little yellow bookmark (they are throughout the book) and the pages are stained. A good sign!

The recipe couldn’t be easier. But it came out perfectly!

So yummy. I used the leftovers for my Australian Lamb Curry.
