Foodie Pen Pals: June

OK, this kinda snuck up on me. So I apologize for this very brief post. Foodie Pen Pal Reveal Days deserve a little more thought than this, but, well, this is the due date.

I was sent a lovely collection of dips/toppings from Ashlyn in Las Vegas.

Here was her note:

These are from Fresh & Easy Market, which I don’t think you have on the East Coast. My friends and I love these dips! Please enjoy! Happy Eating.

She’s right–we don’t have Fresh & Easys. At least not any that I know of. Wasn’t her wrapping job lovely? I had to take a picture because it was so pretty. But you know what I didn’t take a picture of? The jars themselves.

Me = hot mess.

The purple tissue paper contained 3 jars–Fresh & Easy Market basil pesto, olive tapenade, and a sun-dried tomato something. I don’t know exactly because I am not home right now so I can’t take a look at them again.

But I am very grateful for them. Especially the pesto–earlier this week just cooked the rest of the box of bow tie pasta from 68. Lamb Shanks in Red Wine and tossed it in some of the pesto. TA-DA! I got 2 lunches and 2 dinners out of that–ones that I had to put absolutely NO effort into.

I don’t know what I’ll do with the other two–probably what the jars suggested. Or maybe I’ll mix some in with some jarred pasta sauce to give it a little extra sumthin-sumthin.
Regardless, thank you to Ashlyn!
