Welcome to your one-stop shop for all your Wiener Wednesday needs.
2012-2013 was the Year of the Hot Dog. Every Wednesday featured a different wiener-themed post.
I was really hot dogged out so I didn’t do a Wiener Wednesday until I revived it July 2019 and July 2020.
Then, because there is never too much of a good thing, I deemed 2021 THE SUMMER OF FRANKS and attempted to cook a hot dog dish every week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It was a lot.
Since it has become a bit of a tradition, Wiener Wednesdays return every July.
But honestly, any Wednesday has the potential to be a Wiener Wednesday!
Bring on the frankfurters!
WIENER WEDNESDAY: SURPRISE DRUMSTICKS (1972)
It’s the last Wiener Wednesday of 2022! Today we have another reader-submitted recipe. Poppy Crocker from Grannie Pantries was kind enough to send over this gem from Loyta Wooding’s Smart Shopper’s Cookbook (1972). Here’s the obvious question–what, exactly, is the surprise here? These are obviously not drumsticks. Continue reading Wiener Wednesday: Surprise Drumsticks (1972)
