Happy National Mojito Day!

So, I don’t like rum. At all. The smell of rum is enough to make me queasy. And this isn’t even one of those “well, I had a bad experience in college with it….” It’s not. Because I would never drink rum in the first place.

But I don’t hate it in a Mojito. I think the lime and the mint cover all that rummy-ness.

That being said, for my second drink, I made it with vodka.

The Classic Mojito

  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 3 mint leaves
  • club soda
  • ice

Muddle sugar with the lime juice in the bottom of a tumbler. Lightly squeeze the mint leaves to release aroma and place in glass. Fill glass 1/2 full with ice. Add rum. Top off with club soda.
