2-in-1 International Recipe Card Collection: Mocha Mint (1977)

It’s National Chocolate Mint Day!

At least, according to one of the many “National Day” or “National Food Holiday” websites.

I should probably pick one and stick to it. My reference used to be Foodimentary. But the site no longer exists.

Oh, there’s a book!

*1 minute later*

OK, I just bought the book.

It’ll be here on the 27th.

All of the ingredients were sitting in the back of the liquor cabinet. And the china cabinets are lousy with punch cups. So this was a breeze.

Looks like…pond scum…?

Did I mention that I only had green creme de menthe and not white?

It’s very green. It’s very Elphaba.

*Insert insane Cynthia Erivo battle cry here*

So how was it?

It was a Thin Mint.

A liquid, boozy, Thin Mint.

I didn’t really taste any of the coffee liqueur. Just the chocolate mint.

Now, I don’t know if I would pair this with a Grasshopper Pie, since that’s A LOT of creme de menthe and creme de cacao on top of creme de menthe and creme de cacao. BUT! I am VERY intrigued by the idea of a Brandy Alexander Pie.

But I do like Grasshopper Pie!

This is a DiS card that I made back in 2018. It was EXCELLENT.

Plus, it is infinitely simpler than the recipe from the International Recipe Card Collection people.

I’d choose melting marshmallows over beating egg yolks any day of the week.
