Another day, another DiS1972 dinner completed!
I picked this card because I had everything on hand with the exception of fish.
Well, I had fish in the freezer, but it’s cod and I don’t know how well cod would roll up around broccoli.
So I went to the store and bought some flounder.
For my modified version, I basically halved the entire thing with the exception of sherry. Because I love sherry.
- 1 pound fish fillet
- 1.5 head broccoli (fresh)
- 1 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/8 cup butter
- 1/8 cup margarine
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup sherry
- 4 slices of American cheese (those plastic pieces of cheese)
I nixed the baked tomato halves and subbed crescent rolls for butter flake rolls. Crescent rolls seemed like the same thing. And no, I did not bake a cake.
Finished product:
The broccoli, cream sauce, and cheese kept this from being fishy, which was good.
Would I have rather made this with chicken breasts? You betcha! But overall this was an serviceable meal.

Don’t fret–I did make it! But I’m saving it for its very own post.
Because it is special.
Have rarely met a stuffed flounder in any sauce I haven’t liked. Especially with the added cheese – would eat this for days.
Assuming that intense green 70s jello was lime flavored, it’s a big NO(!)
