This volume, by the Office of Seafood Marketing, features “Contemporary” recipes. Perusing the book it seems that the 1982 definition of “contemporary” is calorie-conscious and microwavable.

You may recall this gem of a dish, which has been featured on the DiS1972 social media channels:

It is both low-cal and nuked. It’s also squid skewered with green pepper and pineapple and then dusted with grated Parmesan.

  1. Looks rich + cozy. May need to stuff the holiday mushrooms w crab imperial this year! Let us know if recipe could use a splash of sherry..

  2. Oh, you tease! It looks really good. I’m guessing that “seafood seasoning” really means Old Bay, because that’s the ONLY seafood seasoning. ; )
