Twin Peaks Eats: Audrey’s Freshly Squeezed Cocktail

Four episodes.

Only four episodes in and we’ve been treated to:

Bad wigs, snakeskin print shirts, mysterious boxes, vomiting, outer space, and a chewed up wad of Bazooka gum on a stick.

After all of that, I think that we ALL need a drink.

For inspiration, let’s go back to episode two of season one when Agent Cooper’s eyes land on Audrey Horne for the first time…

Hubba hubba.

Audrey’s Freshly Squeezed Cocktail

  • 1 oz freshly squeezed grapefruit
  • 1 oz freshly squeezed cara cara orange
  • 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon

Combine juices. Pour into champagne flute. Top with the sparkling wine of your choice. This was delicious. The perfect Mimosa for people who aren’t Mimosa people. The tartness of the lemon and the grapefruit tempers the sweetness–especially if you are using a Prosecco. A little sweet, a little tart–this drink is a little sassy–just like its namesake.

We are still watching the old ones and only have 2 episodes to go but it is like pulling teeth to get my husband to watch. Season 2 clearly didn’t know where to go after they reviled who the killer was. I’m having a really hard time even following what is going on along with the show even keeping my attention. That last part I blame this newfangled pocket computer we have now that we didn’t have in the 90’s. this does sound good though. Will be trying it, not so freshly though. I have all 3 of these juices in one form or another in my home, frozen, canned and bottled. Will have to do a virgin version though, doing whole30. Virgin version, say that 3 times fast

Yeah, there are parts of Season 2 that slog on. For example: JAAAAMES. Let me know if you make the cocktail!
