2. Veal Chops With Mushroom Sauce

Do you see how short this recipe card is? Do you know how awesome that is? Let me tell you–it is super-awesome. So super-awesome that I made this a weeknight meal. Now, to do it to Dinner is Served! specifications, I did make the ‘Jellied Fruit Salad’ the day before. Yeah, you know what thatContinue reading 2. Veal Chops With Mushroom Sauce →

80. Tuna on Toasted English Muffins

Tuna on Toasted English Muffins *sigh.* Goddamned canned tuna. Pretty organic grapefruit! I have never liked canned tuna, even more so after Tuna Cheese Macaroni Loaf. But I chose #80 for my latest meal because I already had canned tuna in the house and a grapefruit was the last unused item from my Arganica Farm Club crateContinue reading 80. 19. Glazed Rock Cornish Game Hens

As you all know, Friday was the Royal Wedding. (I think you’d have to be blackout drunk for the past 4 months to be unaware of it). Anyway, although I’m not a huge Anglophile (Absolutely Fabulous and Morrissey excluded), I wanted to make something decidedly British in honor of Kate and William’s nuptials. But theContinue reading 19. Glazed Rock Cornish Game Hens →

28. Tuna-Cheese-Macaroni-Loaf

I am a firm believer that the only thing that should come in loaf-form is bread. Even standard ol’ meatloaf is pushing it. It is a line that should never be crossed. Well, the monstrosity that is #28 Tuna-Cheese-Macaroni-Loaf looked at that culinary line, laughed at it, and then hurdled it like a thoroughbred in aContinue reading 28. 54. Shrimp Creole

Now, I didn’t plan to prepare a Creole dish for Mardi Gras, because I really don’t keep track of such drinking holidays. I don’t need a reason to drink–your Cinco de Mayo is one of my any given Thursdays. Now on to Creole Shrimp! Now, with this recipe I followed it to the letter. TheContinue reading 54. 17. Beef Lindstrom (Swedish Beef Patties)

Second meal. This is the dish where I pre-made the beef patties while chilling the dough for the Medaillons. Non sequitur:  I lost the Oscar ™ bet. We were tied but I picked Annette Bening over Natalie Portman. Will someone just give Mrs. Warren Beatty her goddamn Oscar ™ already? Annette was really good inContinue reading 17. Desperately trying to re-enter my blogging era after suffering from Hollanov-induced psychosis.
Or maybe it’s perimenopause.
Either way: here’s a tuna melt.

The @smirnoff Ice PIck (1975) "Andrea is meeting my family for the first time.
I told her to wear white.
It isn't a must at The Club, but definitely--strongly--recommended. And here she comes in looking like a McDonald's employee with her toes hanging precariously over the edge of her sandals. They're gripped on for dear life as she tries to play croquet.
At least in those ugly pants you can't see the Smirnoff Ice Pick she spilled all over herself. I don't think she knows she's not drinking iced tea. Uncle BoBo keeps refilling her glass. She sways ever slightly more with each shot.
Uncle BoBo can't stop staring at her.
I don't know if it's because he's offended that she totally miffed the dress code, or if he's trying to figure out what she looks like under all that brown corduroy.
I hate Uncle BoBo.
Oh god, would it have killed Andrea to wear a pastel?"
