160. Spartan Steak

I find Card No. 160’s nomenclature interesting. It’s not steak, because it’s lamb. So is it “Spartan” as in frugal or “Spartan” as in Greek?

I figure it’s a Greek thing. Lamb isn’t any cheaper than beef. And this lamb-tomato combo has appeared more than once in the series:

See:

Anyway,  let’s get into Card 160!

My notes here are…limited.

4:20: I cut a 2lb butterflied leg of lamb into 2 pieces. One half, with marinade, goes into the fridge
5:30: cut the tomatoes and onions and put together the tossed salad
?: waiting to see when Mr. Sauce, Esq. wants to eat
?: For tomato sacue I took a can of diced tomato with garlic and onions and heated it with some italian herbs
?: rice went into rice cooker
6:45: I am plating. I don’t track anymore. I suck.

The finished product:

This was just fine.

I haven’t scooped out an orange to make it a bowl in a very, very long time. So that was fun. I love mint jelly. know it’s gross, but I love it.
