I like the idea of an individual meatloaf.
I LOVE the idea of an individual, cheese-stuffed meatloaf.
American cheese ensconced in ground beef is vaguely reminiscent of the Juicy Lucy–a cheeseburger with the cheese IN the burger. There are two rival bars in Twin Cities, both of which claim to have invented the Juicy Lucy. They’ve been arguing over it since the 1950s.
The whole thing makes me want to go on a Juicy Lucy dive bar tour throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul. That would be a pretty cool trip. I’ve never been to Minnesota. When I think of Minnesota the only things that truly come to mind are lakes, Vikings, the Mall of America, Prince, Rose Nyland and St. Olaf, and the Walsh twins from 90210. Oh! And International Falls. Why did Willard Scott (OMG, do you remember Willard Scott) always announce the temps from International Falls? Is it particularly cold in that part of Minnesota? Is there an actual waterfall there? I have so many questions, and I don’t want them solved through Google…yet. LOL.
Here’s the finished dinner, I didn’t take great notes, but it did come in at about 2 hours, as Card No. 194 intended. Please note the Entemann’s Cheese Danish in place of the Apple Crumb Pie.
International Falls is often the coldest place in the continental United States. And it does NOT have a waterfall. It’s been covered by a reservoir.

Thank you for googling so we don’t have to. This one looks really good too, although it’s no Juicy Lucy as you pointed out. There are so many interesting food invention wars — that topic would make a helluva road trip!
