I love pepperoni rolls.
I loved selling them door to door to raise money for my high school marching band, and I have fond memories of Uncle Dave bringing a giant platter of rolls to our Christmas Eve celebrations. They make excellent pepperoni rolls at the Bella Roma Italian Deli in Colonia, NJ. And, although not technically a pepperoni roll, I enjoy the prosciutto bread at Baltimore’s Trinacria.
But I never made my own.
No time like the present!
And no better cookbook than From a Loving Kitchen, a cookbook compilation of recipes from the Gran Centurians–an Italian-American non-profit organization with a large clubhouse and pool in Clark, NJ.
Sadly, the club disbanded a few years ago under some dubious circumstances involving real estate developers, fraudulent purchase of bonds, and former NY Met Lenny Dykstra (?).
But the recipes remain! I was gifted this from Mr. Sauce, Esq.’s parents. They are former members. Dude. This is so easy. All you have to do is get one of those frozen dough balls and you’re good to go.
Mine really was more of a pepperoni loaf than a roll, but check out those layers!
I loved, loved, loved, loved this.
Which means that I can never make it again because I will eat the entire thing in two days if left unchecked.
There are some other good looking dishes in this cookbook, so you will definitely see this one return to the blog.

That looks great (and easy). Have you ever had pepperoni in pasta sauce? It’s quite good!
The pepperoni bread looks wonderful and easy to make. I suppose one could add weel-drained sauteed onions and peppers too. Yum!
