Happy First Day of Spring!
To celebrate the season, I’m opening Great Dinners from Life (1969) and turning to the chapter on Spring.
In my copy of Great Dinners, there are six menus that the previous owner bookmarked and definitely prepared–the pages are dirty!
Artichokes Stuffed with Shrimp
Chicken in a Pot with Vegetables
Coq Au Vin
Fondue Bourguinonne
Trout Amandine
Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
They all sound great, but I can’t pick just one.
From these six menus, which Spring dinner would you like to see here on the blog next month?
In the meantime, you can check out the seventh menu that was bookmarked: Spring Leg of Lamb that I made for Easter back in 2019. (Spoiler alert: it was good).

Tough choice! There's something in every menu I'm curious about. Excited to see which menu prevails and the end results. Happy Nowruz and Happy Spring!
I picked the fondue because of all the fun sauces, but I’d also love to see the rhubarb desserts and the shrimp dishes. (Roast leg of lamb was one of my folks’ company dinners and both Mom and Dad made a good one.)
I’m curious about the Parmesan popovers!
I voted for the artichokes, but I'm curious about the deviled shrimp.
Is that the lamb you made for me and dad? Because that was delicious!
Lovely menus indeed! I chose the fondue one, as I haven't made or had one in ages....looks like I am not alone in that one judging by the votes! That was FUN!
Happy Spring, Yinzerella!
That trout looks super happy to be swimming in almonds.
