It’s Hannibal Week on Dinner Is Served 1972!
My love of the tv show Hannibal is well-documented here on the blog. The show ran for a mere 3 seasons (2013-2015), but in those 3 seasons creator Bryan Fuller & Co. gave us a lot to chew on, so to speak. It is one of those shows that I can revisit again and again. Every time I watch I notice something different, whether it’s a bit of dialogue, a glance between Hannibal and Will, or something hidden in one of the magnificent food displays.
I am a total Fannibal. From kidneys to tongue to liver, I have celebrated the show in many offal ways.
So why am I throwing a Hannibal Week five years after the show went off the air???
Fannibals across the globe are currently in a tizzy because the show has begun streaming on Neflix (a platform known to revive cancelled shows) and Nerdist.com just hosted a ZOOM Hannibal virtual reunion, which will air on Saturday.
Fannibals believe that this is the sign that their prayers have been answered and soon we will receive the glorious news that Hannibal will return for a season 4. If this were to happen, I would lose my mind. Much like I did upon the return of The X-Files and Twin Peaks.
Who knows if there will be a season 4, but in honor of the upcoming reunion, all this week I will be featuring dishes from the official Hannibal cookbook, Feeding Hannibal by food stylist Janice Poon.
There is much to look forward to–delightful and disgusting!
I hope you will join me all this week. To whet your appetite, here is a quick revisiting of some of my past Hannibal dishes.

Just spent the past hour going down the "Hannibal Hole," looking at your old posts and YT videos. So much fun and Mr. Brian! <3
I had a dream about Brian last night!
I was so happy to see him, but in the dream I had moved back into my old house. YUCK.
Here's hoping for more Hannibal! And just because I'm excited, here's a theory I've been holding for a while: the display of Beverly Katz was based on the photography in Modernist Cuisine. I would so love to have new episodes to rewatch and, as you note, find something new each time.
My first thought seeing Beverly Katz was Damien Hirst! But OMG Modernist Cuisine is a good call.
Now I wish I had $500 to buy a set.
Currently watching season 3 with Mr. Sauce. I don't think he's particularly into it and is just humoring me, but whatever. I'll take it :)
It would be nice to have that set, wouldn't it? I just ogle the pics I can find online.
You're braver than I am. I tried to make kidney pie once--not sure from what animal the kidney was from--but it reeked of urine so bad, even after soaking, that I threw the whole thing in the garbage.
